Even Keeled Spirits is here to support brands in telling their story.  We are a one-stop-shop for Control State consulting as well as a full-service brokerage currently focusing on two key control states—Michigan and Ohio. While they are rivals in many ways, and certainly very different in their route to market, Even Keeled Spirits is here to support brands/companies as they journey into these markets. 

In what can be an intimidating process, Even Keeled Spirits will work hard to secure state listings, expand distribution and collaborate with programming. We will work in market, as the sole broker of record, or are happy to support brands with major distributor ties by being the face of the brand locally, in front of national brokers. 

Keith Keeler is a 27-year veteran of the spirits beverage industry. He has worked across the country, from Massachusetts to Hawaii, in every capacity from off- to on-Premise, independent to chains/clubs, and from regional to national accounts in various leadership roles. Working for large, multinational companies, as well as new startups early in their life cycle has given Keith a unique perspective on the spirits industry. 

In 2012, when Keith started working in the control state world, he learned to appreciate their process and understand the nuances that are needed to be successful. At one point or another in his career, Keith has had all control states under his responsibility and lived in 3 of them…including Idaho, Michigan and Ohio. He has also sat on the Industry Advisory Board for NABCA for both Bacardi and Beam Suntory (now Suntory Spirits). 

This passion and respect for the Control State process has led Keith to want to support other companies as they navigate these amazing opportunities within this segment of business.
